about this project

The clients came to this project with a clear point of view. Summers spent on the coast of Maine, a love of Ralph Lauren's richer, more saturated palette of navy, forest green, and deep black, and a home they wanted to feel like it reflected all of that, even in the desert. The challenge wasn't finding inspiration. It was translating it into a house with three young, active boys where everything had to look good and hold up.

The bathrooms are where that vision landed most clearly. The boys' bath goes deep: hunter green cabinetry, leather pulls, a rattan arch mirror, and a tub-shower combo that keeps the room practical without losing any of the character. The second bath is lighter in tone but no less considered, with white oak cabinetry, penny tile floors, scalloped linen sconces, and a walk-in shower finished floor to ceiling in deep charcoal subway tile. Both spaces feel like they belong somewhere on the Eastern Seaboard and handle the reality of daily life just fine.

The entry built-in and laundry room carry the same thinking. Warm white oak shelving against a matching white oak back panel in the entry, brass hardware throughout, and slate tile floors in the laundry. Every space was designed to feel considered without being precious. With three boys in the house, precious was never on the table.
