full-service furniture and interior design

Complete interiors, planned and sourced from first sketch to final placement.

Not every project involves moving walls or tearing out tile. Sometimes what your home needs is a designer's eye on what goes inside it — the furniture, the textiles, the lighting, the art, and the way it all works together. Fitch Hill Design provides full-service furniture and interior design for homeowners across the greater Phoenix area and select projects nationwide. This is a comprehensive design engagement where every piece is selected with the full room in mind.

what we do

We plan, source, and install complete interiors. Every piece is selected in context — the sofa isn't chosen in isolation from the rug, the dining table, or the light above it. The goal is a home that feels layered, considered, and like it was always meant to look this way.

Space Planning and Furniture Layouts

Before sourcing a single piece, we plan each room. Furniture scale, placement, traffic flow, and how rooms relate to each other. A space plan is the foundation everything else is built on.

Sourcing and Specification

We source furniture, upholstery, case goods, textiles, lighting, rugs, art, and accessories from trade vendors you wouldn't find on your own. Every item is specified in detail — dimensions, finishes, fabrics — so there are no surprises when it arrives.

Textiles and Soft Goods

Window treatments, bedding, pillows, and upholstery fabric. These are the layers that make a room feel finished rather than furnished.

Lighting

Table lamps, floor lamps, pendants, chandeliers, and sconces. Lighting does as much for the feel of a room as the furniture does, and it's one of the most overlooked elements in homes that feel almost right.

Art and Accessories

The final layer. Selected to complement the room, not fill wall space. We source art and accessories that add character and personality without competing with the design.

Full Procurement Management

Once selections are approved, we manage every order. Lead times, shipping, damage claims, backorders, replacements — all of it. You don't chase vendors. We do.

Installation and Styling

Every project concludes with a full installation. Furniture is placed, art is hung, accessories are styled, and you walk into a finished home. Depending on the scope, installation may take a day or several — but the result is the same: every room complete and ready to live in.

how the process works

We Start with a Conversation

We'll talk about your home, what's working, what isn't, and what you want it to feel like. This begins with a brief introductory call to discuss your project and see whether we're a good fit for each other.

We Define the Scope and Investment Level

Furniture and decor projects start at a $35,000 furnishings investment — that's our minimum to take on a project, and it covers a single room. During scoping, we'll discuss your budget, the rooms involved, and what's realistic for the outcome you want. Our design fee is a flat rate based on the project scope, separate from the furnishings investment.

We Present a Design Plan

You'll see space plans, furniture selections, fabric options, and a complete vision for your rooms before anything is ordered. We walk through everything together so the plan reflects what you want to live with.

We Handle All Procurement

Once selections are approved, we manage the ordering process. Every item is tracked from purchase through delivery. Once an item is approved and ordered, that purchase is final — our approval process ensures every selection is right before we place the order.

We Install Everything

Our team places every piece, hangs every frame, and styles every surface. You walk into finished rooms.

is this the right fit

Furniture + Decor is for homeowners who are ready to invest in a complete, considered interior and want a designer to lead the process from start to finish.

Our minimum project is a single room with a $35,000 furnishings and decor investment. We don't offer shelf styling, accessory swaps, or individual item sourcing as standalone services — but when a room is in our scope, every detail is designed and styled, shelves included.

common questions about furniture and decor

What does the $35,000 minimum mean?

The $35,000 minimum is the furnishings and decor budget for a single room — the amount invested in the actual items. A fully furnished living room or primary bedroom typically reaches or exceeds that level. This is separate from our design fee. Most of our clients invest well beyond the minimum because they're furnishing multiple rooms.

Can I keep some of my existing furniture?

Absolutely. Many clients have pieces they love that should stay. We'll evaluate what you have, recommend what to keep, and design around those pieces so the finished room feels cohesive and intentional throughout.

How long does a furniture project take?

It depends on the scope. A single room might come together in two to three months. A full home can take six months or longer, especially when custom upholstery or imported pieces are involved. We'll give you a realistic timeline during the planning phase and keep you updated as orders progress.

Do you mark up the furniture you purchase?

Yes. When we procure on your behalf, a markup is applied to items purchased through our trade accounts. This is standard practice in the interior design industry. The markup covers sourcing, sampling, ordering, lead time management, shipping coordination, damage claims, and the liability we carry on every item until it's delivered and installed in your home.

Can I return items after they're ordered?

Once an item has been approved and ordered, that purchase is final. This is standard in custom and trade furnishings, and it's documented in our design agreement. Our approval process is thorough — we walk through every selection in detail before placing any order so you're confident in every piece.

Do I approve everything before it's ordered?

Yes. Nothing is ordered without your approval. We present selections in a design presentation, walk through every recommendation, and make adjustments until you're comfortable. Once you sign off, we proceed with ordering.

Can furniture and decor be added to a renovation or new build project?

Yes. Many of our Design to Renovate and Design to Build clients add furniture and decor as a later phase. When the two scopes are combined, the furniture plan is developed alongside the interior design so everything works together.
